Heavy-hitters ivet have been mainstay at Peabody's Down Under since 1995.

The quartet, consisting of Frank Silver (guitar, vocals), Sam Papa (bass), Mike Roberts (guitar), and Mark Grabowski (drums), are well known for their energetic sets and gritty, news-of-the-world song material.  The brutal, in-your-face music on ivet's 1995 demo Learning to Fail only hinted at the band's future as one of Cleveland's premiere hard rock ensembles.  Their first CD release, Failure Boy, earned ivet attention in Europe, where they were included on the Wake Attack compilation alongside Prodigy and Atari Teenage Riot.   The single "Fondle" was also included on other multi-artist collections and will pop up on yet another release in Brazil this summer.  Steady airplay on local alternative station WENZ brought ivet awards for Band of the Year in 1997 and 1998.

Singer/guitarist Frank Silver is grateful for ivet's early success, but tries to keep his perspective.  "It's kinda possible to play a show now and make enough money for the gas home," he says.  "A year or two ago that was a dream, so it's looking up."

ivet's latest disc, Sickhouse, is now being shopped around to the labels.  Things may be looking up, but this tough-as-nails group won't stop to smell the roses just yet.  "If we relish our achievements we will have missed an opportunity at the next," says Silver.
