Rons Crossroads - Akron, OH ~ Sat. Feb 3, 2001 w/ Peace Tree

The highlight of my whole night is that one of my guitar heros was there to watch me tonight. Lerry Kennedy (see photo to left) is such a good guitar player, and damnit, I know I've been through this before with you, but I'm saying it again. The taste is just so damn good. So, tonight was a chance for me to play to someone I look up to and I was DAMN excited. (oh yea, I also was excited because Beth and Kim from Atlantic Records flew out to catch this show, thank you guys so much [see photo, lower right - Beth and Jim Benson]). This is a strange club, just because the people are so strict. We had to sign a contract that we wouldn't damage anything etc etc.., and that we wouldn't give drinks to underage kids (which sucks cause they could pin an innocent band for that if they got into trouble). So I was just hanging out the whole time getting ready to play, but you see this time was different. I normally feel pretty weird and uncomfortable before shows, but this time I slowly built this unreal angst wall. By the time I hit the stage it must have been the size and strength of that new dam in china. I was ready. I was ready to show the people that I am made of something special. The funny thing is, I didn't know until I started to play and this rage came out of me. I was roaring I think. I believe some people in the crowd connected with me too. [see last thumbnail photo] We were rusty and a bit sloppy, but wwwwhew what a release tonight. I'm happy with the overall performance. Here are some photos, click to enlarge. (special thanks to kt for taking the photos)
