Dear Diary,
The Millennium Music Conference this year was far better than we expected.
All of us have learned how to take control of the music industry, and
we will. We are inspired. This show had energy. Thank you panelists for
the helpful information this weekend. Special thanks to the bands we hooked
up with, we're looking forward to the future gigs.

Canister, 2nd Half, ivet
This show rocked. I can't remember rocking this hard, ever. Sure we were
a bit sloppy, but damnit the crowd was into it, and
so were we, so it didn't matter. Even though we took all of March off
to record and gather our material, we still rocked. We had short notice
on this one. On to the funny stuff. Before the show, all of us were hanging
out and playing chess. Frank was telling all of us how bad it would 'suck'
if he had to sing up there without his guitar, how 'stupid' he would look.
Before the last song, I looked over and saw three strings dangling off
his guitar...so, for the first time in ivet history, Frank fronted the
band by himself, no guitar to hide behind, and he kicked ass. After the
show, Pat the Producer invited us over to his place. We made music til
6am. I played electric guitar (clean), Frank played acoustic, Pat played
the harmonica, Sam played the flute, and Mark had an eggshaker! It was
really cool. Pat can play guitar really good, and it's only his first
year. We met some really cool people this night, and we made good friends
with Canister. A special thanks goes out to all of our fans for their
support, and Pat for having us over and listening to our guitars all night.
We apoligize to the people who couldn't stay to see us, our time slot
was moved at the last minute. Thank you all, see you next time.

Dear Diary,
We showed up AFTER the fire department came and sorta closed things down
for a while... anyway...We didn't think this show was going to work out
because usually when someone rents out a hall and tries to promote it
themselves, it completely flops (Well, this one came pretty close to flopping
when someone pulled the fire alarm), but it ended up to be a complete
success. We played last, and we played like complete hell because we were
all out of control. It was a blast. We played from our hearts, but we
were jumpin around so much that we fully missed most of the notes. Mark
was playing so hard he broke all of his sticks. It's fun to do this every
once in a while, when it doesn't really matter if you're sucking, but
you're having a damn good time anyway, and the people don't even notice.
We would like to thank Sift for putting on a kickass show, and for inviting
us on the bill.

Skatorade '98~Grove
City, PA~Saturday, May 2, 1998
Dear Diary,
This
was really weird. We showed up to this hall these kids rented out, so
there were a bunch of kids running around, and old Mason guys standing
around to make sure no one messed anything up. (Masons are these old guys
that have done really hard work in their lives (usually veterans), and
give awards to each other and have secret hand shakes and stuff) Yea,
so there were like 12 bands and we were last, and
the best part, we were there early. By the time we got on stage, there
were like 19 people left. It ROCKED. These were, quite possibly, the coolest
19 people in a crowd ever. Thanks for sticking around, buying our cd,
and supporting the band in every way you could.

Annabells~Akron, OH~Wednesday,
May 13, 1998
Dear Diary,
Before the show, we watched some tv in the van, drank some beer, hung
out, and had a pretty good time. It's pretty cool when we can play small
places that feel like home, because we all seem to get along a little
better and have a pretty good time. We were in the parking lot way in
the back of the building, and we spotted some girl getting dressed in
front of her window in these weird ass looking apartments. Sam immediately
ran over there to knock on her door to meet her.
Yea, so Annabells is a place that you can't fit more than 30 or 40 people
into, and we usually do pretty good there. We have some damn good dedicated
fans in Akron. In the middle of the set we saw some of our good friends,
the Funkomatic Boys, and it really loosened us up. Thanks to our Akron
crew, and the Funkomatic Boys.

Dear Diary,
Well, there are supposed
to be a bunch of really important people here for this, but I can't tell
them apart from anyone else in the crowd, so are they really more important
than anyone else? We rocked the hell out of the Symposium, and we partied
more heavily than a band ever has.

The Avenue~KSU, OH~Wednesday,
May 20, 1998
Dear Diary,
I remember the way I felt when I walked in. Sick. I don't know why I felt
sick, I just had a sick feeling, like the feeling you get when you're
slightly dizzy, nervous, or haven't eaten in two days and still don't
want to. It's the sick feeling you get when you think you're sick, but
you're not really sick (possibly getting sick, therefore scared) and the
sight of a big grease burger with cheese fries would make you throw up
right there. You know, the feeling is really close to having a nightmare
that your dad died and after you wake up, you still think he's dead for
a second. You know that feeling you get when you did something wrong,
but you're not sure if anyone found out yet, and you think they found
out, but they really didn't, but if they do, you'll be in serious fucking
trouble. The club was strange, the stage was below. It's like you walk
down to the stage, and from the stage, you look up to see the crowd. I
think we played ok, but there were 4 people there. A quick lesson...even
when there are four people in a crowd, it does not limit the amount of
rock you can achieve.

Dear Diary,
The opening band kicked ass! Today we had a bad show. 1. Not too many
people showed up, and 2. Jim was real pissed at us. Oh well, you know,
sometimes it sucks, and sometimes it's great, but even when we have a
severe case of the antifunk, it's still worth doing.

Sidewalk~Buffalo, NY~Saturday,
June 26, 1998
Dear Diary,
We all met at like 6 in the morning to play this show in Buffalo. We were
really excited because we usually do really well there. Today Sam had
the good van, so we were able to watch movies while Jim yelled at Sam
about directions. Someone always has to keep an eye on Sam, if you go
to sleep, you might wake up in Cincinatti instead of New York. I don't
mind it, I really enjoy the laugh out of Sam sometimes, because well,
he's just Sam and I love him. SOOoooooo we get to this college we passed
up twice (because it was so hidden) and we drove around these windy roads
with grass all around for 10 minutes. We finally got to the place we were
supposed to be, and Jim got out to see where we'll be setting up. While
in the van, I didn't really see a stage anywhere, or some sound equipment,
or anything. Just a few college kids cooking burgers on the grill. Jim
comes out and says, "You're playing right there", and
points to a concrete sidewalk occupied with picnic tables. "Oh",
I said, not yet completely disappointed, "ok, maybe the soundman
is setting up now." We set up our things (it was getting a little
close to showtime), and asked where the sound equipment was. The student
said, "OH,
it's upstairs, I'll bring it down". Well, you don't usually just
"bring down" a sound system. We knew then what was going to
happen, but that's ok, I'm open for anything. I ended up setting up the
sound and running it, and we still had a kickass time on the sidewalk
there in Buffalo. I'll go back and do it again anytime. We made some friends,
and we even met some cool girls. Other bands remember this- Just because
there's no stage and no sound system doesn't mean you can't fucking rock
the shit out of the sidewalk in Buffalo.

Symposium~Lakewood,

Dear Diary,
A long time ago we used to hate doing shows at the Symposium, now we love
it, especially when Canister and Lirk are there. The symposium is a really
cool place to hang out because you can go (well, not everyone) outside
and hang out and talk to everyone. There are 3 other clubs right next
to each other, so there is always someone walking by, or a band playing
upstairs that we know. Lirk went on first, and suprised the shit out of
everyone. No one expected them to rock as hard as they did. Canister went
on second, and rocked, as usual. The show was awesome.

Peabody's Patio~Rock
'N Roll Hall of Fame Series~Cleveland, OH~Saturday, August 22, 1998
Dear Diary,
Playing the patio of Peabodys didn't sound too appealing to me. It was
very small, and like a backyard sorta, considering the stage was (i think)
a wooden deck you'd find in a backyard. I still wanted to do the show,
though, since we haven't been to Cleveland for a while. I was very sick.
I had pneumonia and mono at the same time. My glands were so swollen,
and I was so drugged up, I could barely play guitar. In the middle of
the set, all of the sudden, the biggest and loudest fireworks in the world
went on for 15-20 minutes, like less than 500 feet from us. The firewors
were so loud, it was throwing us off tempo, or at least making it sound
like we were off. Oh well, shit happens, but I thought it was pretty cool
to watch (at the time) in my condition. I can't remember anything after
that.

Dear Diary,
Only god himself could've rocked harder than us tonight. We'd like to
thank everyone who came to support us, especially all the people up front
that were really into the music. Stuff like that makes our lives better.
...We always talked about having a light show, and it always seemed out
of reach. The normal cost of a decent light show can take away your door
money, but tonight we were really lucky to have someone who didn't. Thanks
to Brian from HyperLite for doing such a great job.
